UNHCR launches Ramadan appeal for Kenya refugee youth

The United Nations refugee agency has launched a Ramadan appeal to help thousands of refugee youth in Kenya go to school.

UNHCR said many youth at Dadaab and Kakuma refugee camps in Kenya are sitting idle because they are unable to raise school fees.

“Join us as we raise funds to increase access to education for refugee youth,” the appeal said.

“With your donation, you can help them not only better themselves but also one day, inshaa Allah (God willing), return home and better their home countries”.

The refugee agency said just under $30 can provide a child at the camps with textbooks while $15 would buy school uniforms for a girl.
