Somali premier travels to US for talks with IMF, World Bank officials

The prime minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Ali Kheyre, has left the capital, Mogadishu, for an official visit to the US.

The prime minister is leading a government delegation and is expected to hold talks in Washington with officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.

The talks are reportedly expected to focus on debt relief for Somalia.

During the visit, Prime Minister Kheyre is also expected to meet officials from the US government and discuss with them the bilateral relations between the two countries and security cooperation.
