The Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) has announced an extension of the deadline for registration of Hajj agencies to March 15.
The umbrella body had earlier fixed February 25 as the last day of registration of agencies wishing to participate in this year’s Hajj programme.
Majority of the agencies had not registered by the deadline on Monday this week prompting them to request for more time from SUPKEM to extend the deadline.
The council’s executive officer Yusuf Murabwa called on the intending Hajj agencies to ensure their registration for the 2019 Hajj before the stipulated deadline because no further extension would be granted by the council thereafter.
“In consideration of requests and based on the appeals and the popular demand from the public and most agencies for more time, the council has extended the deadline with the hope that those agencies affected will be able to reach their goals.
Speaking to The Friday Bulletin, Murabwa disclosed that so far over 15 agents have registered and added that with the extension, “all respective travel agencies are urged to take advantage of the extended period to seek registration at SUPKEM headquarters in Nairobi.
Murabwa further warned that no late registration will be accepted.
